What Hiighlights does

Hiighlights is a daily collection of short passages and moments from reading, video and podcasts. People submit the part worth keeping, the community can Hiighlight entries, and the ranking closes at midnight UTC. Each completed edition keeps its frozen full ranking. Unsuccessful entries do not carry into the next day.

Your submission

You must have a lawful basis to submit the material. That may come from rights you hold, permission, or an applicable legal exception. Submit only a short extract, not a full article, chapter, transcript or other substantial reproduction. Attribution must be accurate. If you submit your own work or promote a project you are connected to, say so honestly through the self-submission field and attribution.

You retain any rights you hold in the material you submit. To the extent you own or are entitled to grant rights that are necessary for Hiighlights to use the submission, you grant Hiighlights a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license limited to reviewing, formatting, publishing, displaying, ranking, archiving and promoting the submitted extract, source information and attribution as part of Hiighlights where legally permitted. This license does not transfer ownership and does not claim rights that you do not hold.

What is not allowed

• Spam, malware, phishing, unsafe links or unlawful content.
• Impersonation, misleading attribution or hiding a material connection to the source.
• Copied full articles, chapters, transcripts or other excessive extracts.
• Vote manipulation, fabricated voter sessions, coordinated inauthentic activity or attempts to bypass security controls.
• Deceptive promotion, repetitive submissions or automated low-quality material.
• Interference with the service, moderation tools or another person’s use of Hiighlights.

Review and publication

Submissions may be automatically reviewed, held pending human review, rejected, hidden or removed. Hiighlights may correct attribution, refuse unsafe sources, reverse abusive votes, or act on a credible rights or safety report. A disputed entry may be hidden while it is reviewed. Hiding an archived winner preserves the historical edition and frozen totals but replaces the public content with a removal notice.

Submitting does not guarantee approval, publication, a particular edition, rank, traffic, winning, or permanent public display. A followed source, author or submitter link is attribution and referral, not an entitlement to placement or continued ranking.

Sponsorship and ranking

Hiighlights does not currently display sponsors. If sponsorship is introduced, it will be clearly labeled and separate from the editorial ranking. Sponsors cannot buy rank, votes, winner status, editorial approval or immunity from moderation.

External sites and service availability

External links lead to services Hiighlights does not control. A link does not endorse every claim, product or practice on the destination site. Hiighlights may change, pause or discontinue features, and may correct or remove content when reasonably necessary. The service is provided on an available basis, and uninterrupted or error-free operation is not promised.

To the extent allowed by applicable law, Hiighlights is not responsible for indirect losses caused by relying on a submitted extract, an external site or temporary service unavailability. Nothing here excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These terms may be updated as Hiighlights changes. Material changes will be reflected by a new last-updated date.
